1. Re: Media Encoder adding flash frame
tomamici Sep 12, 2014 8:50 AM (in response to tomamici)UPDATE:
Exported a new QT from Final Cut (ProRes 422 instead of LT). That worked fine in AME, no flash frame. We used this instead of Compressor, as that added other artifacts to this particular file, but not a flash frame as AME did.
So, problem solved for now, but any tips for avoiding future glitches would be appreciated.

2. Re: Media Encoder adding flash frame
jfriesen Nov 28, 2014 11:42 AM (in response to tomamici)I, too, am experiencing Media Encoder throwing in a random flash frame occasionally on an output file. Output specs are typically Pro Res HQ 1920X1080 23.98P with 2 to 8 mono audio channels at 48k and 24bit. These are files for delivery to a client. It seems to be going to some random location within the episode and grabbing a frame and popping it in. Anybody have any ideas as to why this is happening?
We're also realizing this is a random occurrence. Output settings don't seem to matter, and redoing the export with identical settings will yield a file with no flash frame. Sometimes it's there, and sometimes it's not...

jfriesen Dec 1, 2014 9:53 PM (in response to thnord)Good to know Thomas. We are running 32 gigs of ram. Can supply more specs tomorrow. It's a Mac Pro but I'm not sure what processor it has. AJA 3g. Able to run the Mercury Engine.
