John T Smith Sep 12, 2014 5:46 PM (in response to Nelson.R)•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
•-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

4. Re: Premiere crashes as soon as i open a project. CS6 and CC both
Nelson.R Sep 13, 2014 10:48 AM (in response to Nelson.R)I tried both of your solution, Kevin and John. Thanks for replying but they both didn't work. Nothing chaged. And by the way, I don'g get any crash reports or the like in Premiere CC, the program just closes like if i had closed it.

5. Re: Premiere crashes as soon as i open a project. CS6 and CC both
Nelson.R Sep 13, 2014 12:25 PM (in response to Nelson.R)I just uninstalled Adobe Premiere Pro CC and installed it again and nothing changed. When I installed it through Adobe creative cloud the installation failed and said some components could not be installed. but the porgram works just as good as before, or should i say just as bad. I will now uninstall everything i have from adobe on my computer and then reinstall it and see if that works.

Nelson.R Sep 13, 2014 2:02 PM (in response to Nelson.R)I uninstalled Adobe Premiere CC 2014, Adobe Photoshop CC 2014, Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014, and i tried to uninstall Adobe creative cloud. For some reason it said uninstalled with errors. I also uninstalled the whole CS6 suite. Now I reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro CC, And Adobe Media Encoder. Premiere Pro and Media Encoder installed with errors again. Here is what I got, basically saying that Microsoft Visual C++ couldnt install.

Since there wheere 0 fatal errors i tried premiere. Nope, no change.
So I did what the text told me to. I tried to manually install them. That didn't work because the windows installer service was not running. I made that service start up and then manually installed all the Visuall C++ that it told me to. After successfully installing them all I restarted and tried Premiere Pro again. Still the same thing happened. I am very much out off ideas now, but i hope i gave you the info that can help, and maybe i overdid the info.

7. Re: Premiere crashes as soon as i open a project. CS6 and CC both
Nelson.R Sep 15, 2014 8:31 AM (in response to Nelson.R)Ok, so I finally called Adobe help line 800-833-6687 and talked to a guy there. He told me to rename the folder SLCache that is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe to oldSLCache. He also told me to rename the folder OOBE in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Adobe to oldOOBE. I was unable to do this due to a "the file is open" error. He then told me to rename the folder SLStore in C:\ProgramData\Adobe to oldSLStore. After doing this he told me to test Adobe Premiere CC and i did that. It actually WORKED!!!! Thanks for trying to help, and as you can see i searched for a solution all over the internet, the earth, and the moon to no avail; and this is the solution for me for anyone who has this problem. The guy at adobe said it was due to some kind of corrupt registration files.

Just wanted to add for people on windows systems to find those folders you need to enable hidden folders by going to Control panel folder options enable hidden folders
