Go over to Library and choose Capture Date or FileName as the sort order. If you don’t see Sort on the toolbar, then click on the little arrowhead/triangle at the right of the toolbar and enable Sort.
And id you don't see the toolbar use "t" for show/hide the toolbar...
Hi - I tried doing that, but it didn't work for the specific folder.
I don't have that at the bottom of my screen. How do I get that?
Press the letter "T" to display the toolbar.
...and if, following Jim's instructions, you still don't see that option then click on the downward pointing arrow on the end of the tool-bar and select "Sorting".
Thank you all for the help, found the sort button at the bottom and all is good now!
I have tried all steps to import photos in the order I want.
As soon as the previews appear on the screen, for 3 seconds it is as I want, but abruptly changes to what lightroom wants.
OK no luck there
But I CAN reorder in a folder
BUT the order is NOT retained
In syncing with iphone the order is as lightroom wants and not what I want
I have tried importing photos again without metadata
I have tried restarting machine
I have tried different sort orders eg custom, file name, capture etc.
Is there ANY way t have lightroom retina sort order after a manual sort or does someone have a work around.
The photos I want to sort are of favorite friends. This order changes according to the year. I want the ability to change the order.
