You have not provided any details about your system, your version of AE and ultimately the files themselves, so we can't tell you anything beyond that this is a CoDec error possibly relating to the compression of the files. But really, you need to provide a lot more information.
Have you installed any codec packs (such as K-Lite)?
Do you use any sort of external preview monitor (such as Blackmagic, Matrox, etc.)?
i have installed XVID. i do not use any external video monitor...only my regular lcd panel from samsung.....
as i said - its happening with eevery single avi from this customer.
if i create a new sequence in premiere by drag and drop, it'll show up with 10fps timebase.
If the problem only exists with avi clips from one customer then it would be very important to figure out exactly what format the avi's are using. Just like QuickTime, there are hundreds of different codecs and compression possibilities with AVI's so it's impossible to definitively troubleshoot without some more details.
i dont know how to prvide more detail. i am sorry. maybe you can give me some advice.
all i hav is that file.
i figured it out. thanx everyone!
the audiotracks in their files are corrupt somehow and they exceed the 2 gig limit for avi files.
handbrake and avidemux fixed it / will fix it in the future.
