1. Re: director12 red cross text (windows vista?)
Milky_au Sep 15, 2014 10:11 AM (in response to z_edoardo)Hi edoardo,
There are lots of reasons why you could see red cross boxes - but because you only have this problem with Vista, it kind of says that it might be the vista test machine you were using.
can you find / and test it on another vista machine?
Was the vista machine you tested it on - your own?
I had some problems a few years ago when my software was being used on government / high security systems
as i remember - director places some temporary font files '.FOT' into the user's local settings folder
You have to make sure that your end users has full access to there local [user - appdata - local - temp folder]
Maybe someone locked down the vista system you were testing it on - try logging on as the Sys-Admin and testing it again?

z_edoardo Sep 16, 2014 7:22 AM (in response to Milky_au)Hello,
it doens't seem a authorisations problem, because in our "vista machine" we log as administrator, and we also try the "run as administrator" option in the link and the red crosses keeps happening. But remembering a couple of years ago we experience a similar problem after an our app, during the opening, reported an error message similar to : "adobe projector error: msvcp100.dll not present" (i can't remember exactly), so after a couple of searches on internet, we try to instal the visual c++ redistributable library from microsoft and the problem was solved.
This time we don't have the pop up window with the error message, but we try to istall the "vcredist.exe" anyway and now all is working properly.
we found it at this link:
