Is there any way to place a jpeg and turn the most likely white background transparent without affecting the actually jpeg graphic? There are functions similar to this in powerpoint where you can set a transparent color in an image.
After placing the image, select it. The right -click (on a PC) or alt-click (on a mac) to bring up a menu.
Select "Effects" from the menu and then go to Transparency. That should bring up a window that lets you alter the opacity of the image.
Also, under the "Object" heading at the top-you can go to Effects >Transparency and alter the image from there.
Hope this helps.
That’s going to adjust the entire image, not just the background.
Personally, I’d bring it into Photoshop and remove the background there and save as PSD.
Place the PSD into InDesign.
