I created a PDF that will eventually be sent off to print and wanted to test if everything looked OK after a test print. On my home printer all fonts printed as expected but when I tried on the office laser printed some characters from the PDF were missing.
I created a Word document with the same font and converted that Word document to a PDF via the save as option in MS Word. All characters print OK in the word document but the characters are once again missing from the PDF.
Is there some setting I'm missing in InDesign to here to ensure the PDF prints as seen on screen? I don't want to share the PDF then have people complain that fonts are not printing properly.
Any assistance would be highly appreciated.
Do you have access to Adobe Acrobat Pro?
If yes, can you preflight the PDF there for missing fonts?
In Acrobat's Preflight there are several Single Checks for font issues like:
"Font not embedded"
"Glyph in subset font missing"
"Wrong encoding for non-symbolic TrueType font"
