A screen dump of exactly what your LR screen looks like might help.
Do you still have the "Folders" header in the side panel below where "All Photographs" are listed?
What happens if you right click on a photo and select "Go to Folder in Library"
The error message on new imports you report confusingly often actually mean LR can't write to where you're telling it to.
Thank you for your reply. I did right click on a photo and selected "Go to Folder in Library" and all the folders appeared, just without names or dates. That was a relief and I can live with that!
I do not think I had changed any import settings but will check. I took a LR online class, tried some different things and might not have changed the settings back correctly. Thank you again.
I just tried to import photos and took a screen shot of the import settings. Does anyone see any problem with the destination settings? I think that after I took the online course on LR, all I did was uncheck the Into Subfolder: Lightroom Trial.
If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure this is a write permission error but I'm not a Mac user so can't help further on this other than to say revert to settings that you know worked and see how you get on.
Also since you've now marked this as having being answered (Thanks, BTW) since the folders are back, you might not get anyone else coming by to offer help on your second problem. I'd suggest a new question just covering the Import issues. I know we've had people having the same problem before on Macs (maybe PCs too) so there's probably someone out there who can help.
