I have a font that says it is not available when I open an indesign file, but it is open and works in another indesign file . . . even when I have a document open that uses the font, when I try to open a 2nd document, it says it isn't available? I've put it into my system folder and it is available in every program I have, but won't open in a particular indesign file? Any help would be appreciated.
The document is probably looking for a different version of the same font. Use Find Font t replace it with the one that is installed.
I have 4 files from a customer and 1 font from them, have used it for several years!
2 files I can open and 2 I cannot … it is very strange … I checked last year’s files and it is the same font, and I did try loading last year’s font into suitcase and it still didn’t work … so then I dumped it directly into my system font folder … works in every program, but won’t “open” or be available in 2 indesign files.
I’m at a complete loss!
In the same folder as the InDesign file, create a new folder and name it "Document fonts" and drop in your fonts. This will sometimes force load picky fonts.
