1. Re: Save Grid Zero Point ?
c.pfaffenbichler Sep 17, 2014 12:25 AM (in response to Trevor Dennis)Had not noticed that that is not saved.
A Scripting approach may be somewhat useful, but hardly practical if you pass the files along.

2. Re: Save Grid Zero Point ?
Jon-M-Spear Sep 17, 2014 1:39 AM (in response to Trevor Dennis)That's interesting. I also assumed that the zero point remained in situ - but it does seem to reset in CC 2014.1.0.
Can anyone confirm whether this behaviour is similar in CS6?

c.pfaffenbichler Sep 17, 2014 1:50 AM (in response to Jon-M-Spear)It happens in CS6, too.

Jon-M-Spear Sep 17, 2014 1:52 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)How strange. It's amazing what one doesn't notice - even after years of use!

5. Re: Save Grid Zero Point ?
Trevor Dennis Sep 17, 2014 2:38 AM (in response to Jon-M-Spear)It's only when you have a specific need that you notice it isn't there. In this case I needed to demonstrate symmetry. The bottles are pre-production and hand labeled, which means they tend to be slightly crooked and not aligned with each other. So a centered zero point helps me nudge the labels into place, and vertical center of the bottle. If the client wants the PSD file, then it's a nice touch to provide it with guides turned on, but the trick falls flat on its face if the grid zero reverts to the top left corner when they open it.
In actual fact, I did a double take when seeing the non centered grid zero, and had to open the other files before I could accept that the center was lost when reopening. Like I said. It's not until you need to use it, that you discover it is not there.

6. Re: Save Grid Zero Point ?
normfb Sep 17, 2014 7:21 AM (in response to Trevor Dennis)A possible workaround would be an additional layer and the guide lines made with the Single Row/Column Marquee tools. The guide you create need not be black.
