Issue with letter spacing

Hi all,

we are facing an issue with the pdf generation on LC ES4.

When we create a pdf comming from a word file (Arial 10, normal letter spacing), the letter spacing gets corrupt.

Especially the letters "v" and "r" will be connected to the letters before (or behind) and the letter space in the pdf is more ore less 0. See:

We tried on three different LC instalations, all with the same result.

Does anyone else face this issue and has any solution on this?

What is the version of Office ? Is the file generated from ant third party application ? Attach such sample here.

Hi Wasil,
We are using Office 2010 and are converting it directly in ALC.
One finding is, that it correctly works for the first time, but all later conversions fail.
That´s what we did:

Restarted jboss service (ALC)
Selected Word Document for conversion

ALC processes and Word process get started for conversion user
File gets converted

ALC processes are not closed for user
Start second conversion of same Word Document
Same ALC processes for conversion user is used
PDF is converted with rendering error

ALC processes stay active
End Winword process manually
Start conversion of PDF file; result is okay
Upcoming conversions fail again

Is anti-virus enabled on the server ? If yes, exclude all the LC related directories.
Also, share what is in the server logs when the rendering fails.

Hi Wasil,

we disabled all virus scanner, unfortunately with the same result.
This is the log.
10:15 -> rendring correct
10:18-> rendeing incorrect
