Did you install InDesign correctly or did you migrate or copy it from another computer?
I install it the first time on the Mac, no copy or migration. I use th original DVD medium to install it. It runs some month without any problems. Now I get the error message when I start InDesign, that the plugin ObjectStylesUI.IndesignPlugin needs Graphic Panles. I should install it again. Than I must start InDesign a second time and it runs fine.
yes, this helps, many thanks Peter. But I can't find the preferences files under
Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/(Note: Prior to version 6 [CS4] the language folder is not used).
Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/ (Note: Prior to version 6 [CS4] the language folder is not used).
Under the version path there are no files, only the language folder (I have version 8) and after version 6 they are not used for preferences. So I used the four keys option (Cmd+Ctrl+Alt/Opt+Shift) to reset the preferences direct after starting Indesign. This works fine and helps
That note says BEFORE version 6 the language folder was not used...
It's possible, though, that the files were never written if ID has never launched.
