MXF import "no audio or video streams"

    dkmiles Community Member

I'm trying to import video shot on a C300 into Premier and I keep getting a dialog saying there are no audio or video streams.

I know the media and clips are there because I can see them fine using Canon XF utility, but Premier does not want to recognize them. Last time I worked with C300 media, it dropped right in from the Media Browser.

I can get an MXF converter and transcode them, but Premier should be able to directly import these files, shouldn't it? At least it has for me in the past.

Has anyone had a similar experience and solution?

      Thanks!

I found the problem and solution. We transferred the media using Shotput Pro. This creates an elaborate and apparently superfluous file structure like this...

And for some reason PP cannot see down inside this file structure in media browser or direct import. When I pulled the individual clip folders out of this file structure like this...

PP was able to see and import the MXF files fine.
