I am assuming you are using the Animate 2014.0.1 Release
Are you sure that the following belongs to same symbol's timeline
1. The timeline where you called sym.stop
2. The timeline where your faulty trigger is executed.
If they are in different levels , you could try sym.stopAll() ( Available with 2014.0.1 release)
Description: If stopAll is issued to a symbol it will stop the default timeline of the symbol and all its children.
It's the same timeline. I tried the sym.stopAll().
I'm using multiple compositions, it happens in the first composition only if i'm loading other compositions. Maybe it's some problem in another composition.
renaming the first instance the compositions were copied from should work.
