1. Re: menu has 19 items...and it is not allowed???
Ann Bens Sep 23, 2014 11:47 AM (in response to Soshman)18 buttons is max for widescreen menu. 4:3 is 36 buttons.
17 video's 1 menu and 1 play all make 19 buttons.

Soshman Sep 23, 2014 12:10 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Interesting to me that the smaller menu has twice the possible buttons!
Thanks again Ann!
Thoughts on this part?
Along this same line each of the videos are from 2:30 seconds to 4:30 for an hour total tme
Would it be better to lay these short videos all on one timeline or make a separate one for each?
The reason i ask is that each video has a 5 second title page ( quiet no sound ) and i am thinking of using the play all to start at the
place where each audio starts instead of the beginning where the quiet title starts.
Not sure yet on how to do this from user experience. The are meditation videos so the quiet might not be bad in between
Any input on this is welcomed :-)
Thanks

3. Re: menu has 19 items...and it is not allowed???
Stan Jones Sep 23, 2014 12:21 PM (in response to Soshman)Neil Wilkes, or was it Jeff Bellune, once explained why the 16:9 requires more overhead for other issues and leaves less for buttons. It made sense, but I don't remember what it was!
I don't see the advantage to putting them on the same timeline. If you don't want the silence, remove it? Or you want it for a single chapter play? In which case, you make your chapter links much more complicated. With each video on its own timeline, the single chapter play is a link to each timeline. And the playall without silence is a playlist of chapter playlists - each chapter playlist being one timeline starting at chapter 2 (audio begins).
In any event, IF you put them on one timeline, then you still need 2 chapter markers for each: beginning and audio beginning. And you must use chapter playlists for a play all without the silence, and chapter playlists for the play single chapter.

4. Re: menu has 19 items...and it is not allowed???
Soshman Sep 23, 2014 1:05 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Thanks Stan!
The elusive obvious...duh! Just remove it...lol
I can even remove it in Encore if i remember right
I was going to use it for the Play All button...i can still do it and use the 17 timelines and make a chapter playlist right?
Funny how we see things within a certain structure and try to make it fit instead of thinking outside the box.
Thank goodness for this forum
Thanks again:-)

5. Re: menu has 19 items...and it is not allowed???
Stan Jones Sep 23, 2014 4:37 PM (in response to Soshman)I'm not entirely sure I understand your plan, but I'll say "yes" anyway!
A "playlist" is composed only of timelines, but, for your purpose, and I DID NOT KNOW THIS till I just tested it, you can add the timeline using "specify link" or pickwhip to the timeline and start on any chapter you want.
So I was starting to explain "playlist" versus "chapter playlist" and to say that you would have to use a "chapter playlist" within each timeline to set up the "start at chapter 2" scenario.
But I now think you can play use a playlist with what I think you already have (single video timelines with silence) for the play all, and play each timeline for the chapter play (with the silence).
If you remove the silence, each timeline is the chapter play without silence, and a simple playlist is the play all.
