I just read somewhere in Tweakers page not to use the DNxHD format if in a .mov wrapper because it is 32-bit. Well, that is exactly what I have been using as recorded on a Ninja Blade coming off a Canon EOS C100. Is that in fact a problem? And, if so, what is my alternative? The Blade only records DNxHD for Windows and Pro-Res for my Mac friends, both in mov wrapper. Could this be the reason for my performance issues?
Thanks. I forgot I had read that before.
Alex.....I HAVE noticed MUCH better performance with the .MOV DNxHD codec using the NEWEST version of CCloud PPro 2014. Also, the Canon .MOVs run MUCH better than before....in fact, I can monitor the memory usage on another screen and NOW see it shooting WAY above the OLD 4 GB limit imposed by the old 32 bit operation. What ever they did...IT WORKS !!
