I use Lightroom 4 which is currently updated. I just purchased a Nikon D3300. I have always shot in RAW with my Nikon D200, so that is what I selected to use in this camera. However, when I tried to download the images, Lightroom tells me it can't read this particular Nikon format. Has Nikon changed its RAW format in some way, and has this been compensated for in Lightroom 5?
You need at least Lightroom 5.4 or later; a free alternative is to download the Adobe DNG converter version 8.4 or higher, and use that to convert your RAW to DNG, which can be imported into Lightroom 4.
Thanks, DJ, for your quick response. I really like Lightroom and usually update whenever a newer version is available, so I think I'll do that, knowing that it will be able to read the files once I update to version 5.4.
