    InDesign 'out of memory' issue

I'm running into an 'out of memory' error message when saving a particular InDesign file as a pdf. I'm using CS4 (yes, I know, it's ancient - but it's been working fine!) on Windows7, 64bit.

Here's what I've tried so far:

      • increased the virtual memory allocation to the max
      • deleted my InDesign preferences, exported the file to an .inx and then recreated a .indd file
      • stopped the automatic preflight
      • stopped the auto thumbnail view (in pages)

Other InDesign files are still saving as pdfs okay, and the file that's having trouble saved correctly a few days ago.

My client is chomping at the bit - anyone else have any ideas what to do?
