    [ASK] Footer

Hi, I am drafting a document. In my old document I used Ms. Word.

I used footer in every pages. In footer of current page usually uses words of the first line of the next page (as shown in the figure). I wrote manually, so it took time.

Could you suggest me how to make footer as I mention above in InDesign?

      Many hanks and best regards.

First words of the next page is a bit unusual, and unfortunately it doesn't quite fit into the things you can do with a running header variable (you can read about variables in the help files), so I don't see a way around having to enter this text manually SOMEWHERE on your page, either in the footer area or a non-printing tag that could be picked up by a variable, which means it isn't a practical method for automation.

Maybe someone else has an idea...

            Aha! Very funny!

            If you only want:

            "sebagai …"

[Apparently, you have an auto-numbering para style!]

            Yes we can!

            Otherwise [JS] can handle it!

I'm curious how you plan to have this automatically update during editing....

                Hi Peter,

I did not say it would be "in live"!

When the page layout is complete, then we take care of footers [before, we'll take the opportunity to remove all the hyphens between pages // with script!]

That said, handling is simple and takes 1/2 minute(s) [script + grep] but it has some limitations [as I said]. If the layout moves, you can do it again easily!

Before unveiling how I've imagined it, I would wish javascripters' thoughts! Thanks for comments.

Actually, I just knew the term yesterday, it is "catchwords". In Word, I got idea from Catchwords in footer.

But, I have no idea in script or GREP in InDesign.

                  So please.
