1. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
Nathan Marroquin Sep 25, 2014 2:26 PM (in response to PCooney_Peerless)This is a brand new warning from Apple that we haven't seen before, and we haven't made any changes since last Friday. 6.0 is the minimum OS, so on the surface this alert seems wrong.
What type of app are you submitting? Is it single edition or multi-issue? If it is multi-issue did you select v31 or v32?

IvoclarVivadent Sep 26, 2014 12:40 AM (in response to Nathan Marroquin)i have the same problem since yesterday.
i have uploaded a file to Apple the day before and everything worked fine. Now i am sending a file with the apploader and get this error and two warnings
"ERROR ITMS-9000: "Invalid Bundle. The bundle viewer.app dies not support the minimum OS Version specified in the Info.plist."
and a
WARNING ITMS-9000: "The executalbe 'viewer.app' is not a Position Independent Executable. - here the Technical Q&A Number QA1788
It seems like Apple changed something and now neither Version 31 or 32 is working. (i tried both) Multiissue App -
3. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 26, 2014 3:42 AM (in response to IvoclarVivadent)It looks like Apple's upload process is having issues again I did a quick search for the os version error and found another person having the same issue uploading a non-DPS as of today.
We'll do a bit of investigation on our end as well but I suggest you contact Apple developer support and let them know it isn't working.

4. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
IvoclarVivadent Sep 26, 2014 7:04 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Maybe it is that english is not my first language... but what you are saying is, that this is an apple-only problem and that you can't and won't assist any further? (because just marking your anser as "correct" didn't really help)
I have - however - just opened the Info.plist to have a look.
"MinimumOSVersion^UIDeviceFamily]" defines just that it is for iPads - right? Is this how it should be and - would it help if i change this value?i tried to reupload a new Version of the App i successfully uploaded yesterday - and got the same Problem. So is this a hint that my whole account can't upload files correctly - or could my file get corrupted while creating the App.
and - is the warning
WARNING ITMS-9000: "The executable 'viewer.app' is not a Position Independent Executable. Please ensure that your build settings are configured to create PIE executables. For more information refer to Technical Q&A QA1788 - Building a Position Independent Executable in the iOS Developer Library."related to this? Or my this point to a bigger issue with the app builder?

5. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 26, 2014 7:14 AM (in response to IvoclarVivadent)Apple frequently makes changes to iTunes Connect that cause incorrect errors or warnings to appear. It happens often around new releases of iOS, and has already happened at least three other times in the last 2-3 weeks. The last three times it happened we investigated and before we could even figure out if the problem was caused by us Apple changed something again and the problem went away.
Nothing has changed with how App Builder produces applications since September 19th when we released our last update. Here is a thread on StackOverflow with two other people, not using DPS, reporting this exact same problem within the last 24 hours: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26036340/error-itms-9000-invalid-bundle-the-bundle-my-a pp-app-does-not-support-the-mini.
I suggest contacting Apple Developer support and asking them to investigate why the failure is occurring when the app does support the minimum OS version specified in the plist file. Our dev team will investigate this today as well, but given the evidence at hand it is extremely unlikely this is something wrong with App Builder or the viewer.

IvoclarVivadent Sep 26, 2014 7:21 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Thank you ... i will try to contact apple direct. it seems that we have some bad luck with that app and with the whole uploadingprocedure.

8. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
PCooney_Peerless Sep 26, 2014 7:36 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)I don't want to be rude Neil, but if you look closely at that SO post it's coming from someone using PhoneGap - another Adobe product. Something is going wrong over at Adobe with your auto generated code. I'll contact Apple support as well but this appears to be an issue with the app builders that Adobe provides.
-
9. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 26, 2014 7:40 AM (in response to PCooney_Peerless)PhoneGap, while an Adobe product, does not share anything with DPS with regards to app building.
As I also mentioned we are investigating, but in parallel it is helpful if people raise the issue with Apple as it often leads to a faster resolution.

10. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 26, 2014 9:39 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)We just completed successful uploads of a multi-issue, Adobe Content Viewer, and Single Edition application built with the production version of App Builder. All viewers uploaded successfully with no errors. The only warning given was the known "consume:" warning which we've confirmed with Apple is not an issue.
Here are some things to try:
1) Make sure you have the latest version of App Loader installed. iOS8.0.2 came out yesterday which often means a new version of App Loader.
2) Make sure you are submitting the .zip file, not the .ipa file, from App Builder. You can download the .zip file by clicking on the Distribution link in the App Builder main window.
3) Build a fresh app out of App Builder just to be absolutely sure you aren't uploading a version that you tried to edit to resolve the issue.
If none of that works then please open a case with Apple Developer Support and ask them why the app is failing upload with an incorrect error. When you get a case number back send it to me in a private message.
Thanks,
Neil
Edit: Fixed my mistake, upload the .zip, not the .ipa

11. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
PCooney_Peerless Sep 26, 2014 12:50 PM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)What I don't understand is how this can be an Apple problem. Adobe are the ones generating the code. It's not like you're giving us a template for Xcode and we're handling settings ourselves. Your App Builder is doing everything. I can't make manual tweaks even if I wanted to because the md5 checksums will be invalid if I make changes to the files within the package and try to submit. I'm glad yours works, mine doesn't, and I struggle to see how it's Apple related. Surely you can follow the logic, no piece of Apple software touches this while building the app. Adobe provides all the settings, If you want to give me the ability to choose settings I'd be more than happy to turn off iOS 6 support.
Edit: Clearly the error is not incorrect if multiple people are getting it.

12. Re: Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 26, 2014 1:19 PM (in response to PCooney_Peerless)Apple runs an automated set of verification steps when an application is uploaded to check for various app requirements and sometimes they break those tests. The result is apps that are valid get tagged with seemingly random errors. This, unfortunately, seems to happen most often right around the time of new OS releases.
App submissions to iTC stuck in "upload received" status is a good example of this kind of problem. On September 9th customers started a thread that covered three different errors from iTunes that started appearing with no notice or warning. All DPS customers were impacted. You can see our progress on the investigation at http://status.adobedps.com/?p=728. We worked furiously through the night to understand why the errors were happening, only to find that they all disappeared by 8:40 the next morning without a single change being provided by Adobe.
Invalid or Non-Increasing CFBundleVersion is another example from not too long ago where all of a sudden warnings started regarding the version format string. Not only was the warning being thrown, but e-mail messages were being sent to customers with a different explanation of what a valid number was, including the format we were using! We started to investigate and then Apple changed something and the warnings went away. The current warnings people get regarding a "consume:" entry in the app are a similar example. Apple even confirmed for us that we are doing things correctly (although they did suggest a workaround we can apply to suppress the warning, which we are shipping next week).
Please try the steps I mentioned above, in particular the one about updating Application Loader. If that doesn't resolve the problem we ask for your help by opening a case with Apple Developer Support and asking them to investigate. Once the case is open please send me a private message with the case number so we can work some of our back-channels as well.
Neil
Edit: Fixed the time on the first example, removed Monday. Oops!

14. Re: "Invalid Bundle." "...viewer.app does not support the minimum OS version specified in the Info.plist"
JamieSimpson Sep 26, 2014 2:15 PM (in response to zeScott)zeScott,
Those are networking errors in the app reporter app. I've encountered them myself from time to time when load is high (as it usually is after a new OS update). Your only option is to retry.
This one:
The apple references non-publish selectors in viewer.app/viewer: consume:
WARNING ITMS-900: "The executable 'viewer.app' is not a Position Independent Executable. Please ensure that your build settings are configured to create PIE executables. For more information refer to Technical Q&A QA1788 - Bulding a Position Independent Executable in the iOs Developer Library."
Is a warning only, and does not block app submission.

IvoclarVivadent Sep 29, 2014 2:35 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)ok - here is what i did...
- downloaded a fresh installer of the app-builder and installes it anyways (even though it said the same version number is installed)
- downloaded the application loader (Version 2.9.1 (441)) which is the same version i had installed.
- deleted my old bulid and edited some small changes to force a completely new build (i just changed rating settings)
- uploaded the file again and still got the same error and the two warnings. (For v.31 & v.32) Multiissueapp. (i am so glad that i got my first app through before this whole thing started going crazy)
i will contact Apple Developer Support but first i have to find out where to do that hope to find someone who can help etc... sometimes i wonder if those apps are worth it...

So i got a message from apple, the problem should be fixed - please rebuild and upload again.
Start App-Builder - see that message
click on link - download - start installer - installer finds same version on my mac - install anyways - restart computer - start app-builder - get the same message.
hmm maybe thats apple fault again?

Neil Enns - Adobe Oct 13, 2014 1:12 PM (in response to MKMMKM)Are you sure you downloaded the latest version of App Loader from Apple (I believe they have version 3.0 out at this point)? If not, make sure you have the latest version of App Loader. If yes, you'll need to open a developer support request with Apple and ask them for assistance. Tell them that your app does support the minimum version.

kek Oct 20, 2014 7:24 AM (in response to PCooney_Peerless)Hi,
i'm a Flash developer and i had the same issue. Today I tried something i saw on another site, it's to change the XML descriptor and put :
<InfoAdditions><![CDATA[
<key>UIDeviceFamily</key>
<array>
<string>1</string>
<string>2</string>
</array>
<key>MinimumOSVersion</key>
<string>6.1</string>
]]></InfoAdditions>
It seems that the "MinimumOSVersion" option works, i tried with 6.0 and had the same error, but now with 6.1 I don't have any error.. well i cross my fingers.
Hope it helps.
