    PC Build Help

    Returned Level 1

Hi guys. I'm going to order a new PC to use After Effects and Premiere CC, and I need some help...

Below are the specs I'm thinking of:

      • Intel Core i7 5820K Extreme (6 x 3.3 GHZ - Turbo 6 x 3.6 GHZ)
      • Crucial 32GB 2133MHz (4x8GB) - (DDR4)
      • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 JETSTREAM - 4 GB - (PALIT) - (PCI-E)
      • Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 (Intel X99)
      • 500GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD SATA-III, Read 540MB/s, Write 520MB/s - Silent
      • 3 TB Seagate (3000 GB) SATA-III HDD 7200 RPM 64MB

I was hoping to take the price down a bit. Could anyone recommend some downgrades?

Is RAM better larger or faster? I have these two options:

      Corsair 16GB Vengeance LPX 2800MHz (4x4GB) - (DDR4)

      Crucial 32GB 2133MHz (4x8GB) - (DDR4)

I'm wondering -- should I go for a more powerful CPU? Whats more important a larger SSD or better cpu?

All general critiques of the specs would be greatly appreciated.

      Many thanks,

Yes switch to the 5930K. The 5820 is limited PCI-E lanes compared to the other 2 Haswell E chips. I would also switch to the 850 Pro Samsung instead of the Evo. The Evo drives have some drawbacks.
