1. Re: Do you plan to offer Samsung as a marketplace in creating Apps for Android users in the future?
David Herrera Sep 26, 2014 11:28 AM (in response to MABury)Hi,
The viewer in Samsung's Papergarden is ours and we've had the Samsung Marketplace as a configuration option since their release.
Thanks,
Dave

MABury Sep 26, 2014 11:59 AM (in response to David Herrera)That's great! So if we wanted to publish our magazine as a subscription in their app store can we use the same android APK file that we built in App Builder? Or do we make something different?

David Herrera Sep 26, 2014 1:32 PM (in response to MABury)Samsung would have to guide you through their requirements and process. On our side, you will need to rebuild, selecting the Samsung Marketplace in app builder as the option. Samsung might have requirements about uniqueness of the bundle id, etc.
That said, right now, I think they're only accepting 16x10 aspect ratio issues and, from what I know, are currently partnered with a few large publishers. I'm not sure if they've opened up the gates to everyone. If you're still interested, I can inquire more about this.

MABury Sep 29, 2014 8:03 AM (in response to David Herrera)Yes we are interested and I did contact them. I didn't say who we were but let them know that we are published on iTunes and Amazon. Their responses was "We have received the answer from the Papergarden team and they would like to inform you that the application contains only premium and highly interactive magazines that belong to large publishing houses. We do appreciate your understanding regarding this matter." This is without know what publishing company I work for or what magazines a was referring to. Hmmmm. I think your statement is accurate… they are only partnering with whom they want to right now. I am going to send them a response. I think they should at least look at our magazines. They fulfill all the requirements. I was hoping it was a little like iTunes where you create, submit and then go through an approval process. I would like them to at least look at our magazine and then make a judgement.
