When editing a movie, i see no image, just sound can be heard

    PD2ATG

      Hello,

When I try to edit a movie from my camera I only hear sound. The image does not display so I cannot edit at all since I can not see what I am doing.

I have had this problem a couple of times and then I reinstall the software but this does not seem to help anymore

Critical answers from you will include:

          1. What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?

          2. What video card/graphics card does your computer use? Does your computer use more than 1 video card/graphics card?

          3. What is the brand/model/settings for the camera that is recording your video? And, do you have the latest version of

QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements?

          4. As just in case question, are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?

Let us stop here while you review the above. Then we will move forward with the troubleshooting strategy based on the

          details that you supply.

          Thank you.

Thanks for the details. Much appreciated.

The minute I saw Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce card, I was 99.9999% sure of the answer.

There is a serious Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce dispaly issue for which the fix is to roll back the driver version

to about May 2013. Your good news is that I think we can find an old enough driver for you to use. People in this situation with

Windows 8 and 8.1 64 bit have major problem since their computer often do hot have drivers old enough for the fix.

You need to get to the NVIDIA web site

NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search

and use the NVIDIA Version 320.18 May 23, 2013

The full details are given in the Announcement at the top of this forum.

Please let us know the outcome.

                  Thank you.

Add On...this issue has been to date specific for Premiere Elements 10 and NVIDIA GeForce cards.

                    Please see post 5.

For your convenience, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement at the top of this forum regarding

Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA Ge Force issue.

Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back

If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and

you are experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line

of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.

Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained

workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce

video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card

driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as

March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any

corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.

Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
