There are times, plenty of them, where I select a font on my page and InDesign CC tells me it's the last font I applied, not the font I currently have selected with the text tool. For example, I have some Helvetica 55 on the page. I then change some of it to Helvetica 33. When I select another example of Helvetica 55 on the page, the font menu thinks I have selected another example of Helvetica 33. This also happens when I change type weights or faces. I may change some Helvetica 55 to Helvetica 95, and when I select some Minion Pro Regular on the page it tells me I have Minion Black selected with the text tool. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Search for adobefnt*.lst files and delete any that have 2 digits in place of the *. On mac, you should also clear the font caches.
If that doesn't solve it, try trashing the prefs as well. See Replace Your Preferences
