    Parents and Childs

So correct me if I am wrong, but I have been doing this for years. When you parent a layer and then zero out the pos. of the child the child should go to the anchor point, no?  Why is my child going to zero, zero of the layer as if the anchor point is set to 0,0? Which it is not. Here is an example.

The grid is a child of the red solid, the yellow solid is a child of the grid. I then typed 0,0 in the position like I have been doing for years. Why are they going to the  0,0 of the parent. I use this to offset and doing all sorts of other action like aligning layers 3D layers, all the time? Am I doing something wrong?
