works for me. Any additional information? Camera? OS? QuickTime installed? Version?
I have a Panasonic HDC-900 1920x1080P , .MTS ( ie AVCHD) files.
Win7(64). QuickTime 7.75 installed.
Vision but no sound from within Lr 5.5.
Thanks for replying.
Ps I downloaded Trial version of Premiere Pro CC - same problem.
may be this link may help.
Try to open the file directly with the quicktime player. Does it play audio? Open the movie inspector (?) with ctrl-i inside QuickTime. It shows what format an audio format is used.
Quicktime will not open this .MTS file at all.
"....Error - 2048 Qt could not open this file because it cannot understand
sounds not good. I would not expect to manage these file with LR.
If it is realy importent to you to mange these file in Lightroom you can try to put them in a new container (use Avidemux for avi or MPEG Slipstream 1.21b6 for mov). But you will loose some metadata stored in the original file (e.g. recording date / time).
Thanks - but I dont like transcoding avchd into avi or other formats as the
loss of quality
is unacceptable. I guess I'll have to live with it.
The killing thing is that i don't know why it doesn't work.
