CreatePDF is a different product/service. If you have an Adobe PDF printer, select it and right click to get the preferences. Under the settings tab (I am extrapolating from Acrobat here), select the option to open in Reader (I assume you do not have Acrobat) and select the option to specify the location of the PDF. If these are not available, you may have to ask in the CreatePDF forum where someone might know the answer.
Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer is a component of the Adobe PDF Pack online service and Acrobat.com.
For it to function you must have a subscription to PDFPack and be logged in.
A simplistic description -- drop a supported file format in - CreatePDF Desktop Printer ships the file off to the "cloud" server(s) where the subscription service lives.
The service crunches and grinds.
The output PDF is presented. You download the PDF to the local machine.
So, Not The Same Thing as using Acrobat (the desktop application) to create a PDF.

Help article re: CreatePDF Desktop Printer fails to install
The PDF Pack user-2-user forum:
Thanks guys. I purchased the PDF Pack because it said you could print to PDF. That's all I want to do. I run an application for work that only lets me print and not save. I don't even know the file type. The Adobe CreatePDF desktop printer is installed but.comes up as an error. I've had better success using PDF Factory on a different computer. Then I have to save as PDF, email to another computer, then export to Excel. What a pain! Do you have a solution? Thanks!
Sounds annoying but did you read the articles linked in the last reply?
Hey, I read them and I'm confused too. Aren't the two forums both about exactly the same product? I didn't know the first one existed.
Are you connected as suggested by CtDave? Did you check to see if there were any preferences available on the PDF printer that you have installed as part of the createPDF product?
