What do you mean with embedded text boxes?
I suppose you work with text frames, but what do you mean with embedded?
Did you work with styles? Object, Paragraph and Character Styles?
CS6, OS 10.7.5.
Anchored text frames. The text within the anchored text frame uses a paragraph style, and the text the frame is embedded also uses a paragraph style (with leading set to Auto).
I would never recommend to use AUTO for text, only for pargraphs with only an inline frame.
I would recommend not to use auto resize in such a situation, you can apply a normal object style without auto resize to your anchored frames (USE OBJECT STYLES!) and you can click on the small squares in the midst of any edge or corner to autoresize manually.
NEVER work without Object Styles, use it for the anchored frames as well as for the text frames.
How much RAM does your computer have?
Thanks for your answer. The AUTO leading is only being used for the paragraph with the inline frame.
It looks like the file has become corrupt and I cannot save anything out of it.
My computer has 8 GB of memory.
The text frames do have object styles and I was able to open the file, edit the object style to turn off auto-size, and save the file. But I the text on the first 10 pages of the document has become garbled and if I try to do anything to the file (delete the text, or move the good pages to a new document or export to IDML) the file either freezes or crashes. I was hoping to save my day's work, but looks like I'll have to toss the file and go back to an earlier backup.
