What sort of objects? Is there something else already on the page? Are the objects or layer set to non-printing and you're in Preview or Overprint Preview mode?
Layers are document wide not page specific. A layer cannot disappear from one page and remain on the other page.
Can you give us a screen shot from the problematic spread with layer panel open and all layers extended.
I am experiencing this! Have you worked out a solution?
I lost the background layer on two pages and it still exists for everything else. Master page is applied to these and when I even try copy and paste and drag onto the background layer it disappears. I've tried turning visibility off and on for all layers to see if somehow I had accidentally created a white box that's just hiding everything (extremely unlikely) but to no avail.
Additionally, on these pages I had text disappear from within grouped items and the text boxes still exist but all the copy has gone. And some of the linked images have completely disappeared too. These are on a different layer.
It is the strangest thing and neither me or anyone at work have experienced anything like this. Appreciate if anyone can help.
Did you check for objects that are masking the missing objects? A Paper-filled frame used as a background, for example?
