1. Re: How do i get rid of grayed out EXPORT IN FILE on PSE 12? I am trying to export a panoramic photo file.
R_Kelly Oct 2, 2014 4:23 PM (in response to Metromantra)Is this in the pse 12 editor or organizer?
If your in the pse 12 editor, then export will be greyed out unless you have a third party plugin that uses the export menu.
In the pse 12 editor you want to use File>Save As

Metromantra Oct 2, 2014 5:43 PM (in response to R_Kelly)Thank you. I am in the editor. I did File>SaveAs and it was still grayed out. When you say third party plugin, I am not clear on that. I am transferring raw files from LR5. Advice is appreciated.

R_Kelly Oct 2, 2014 6:05 PM (in response to Metromantra)Are you saying File>Save As is greyed out?
Are you in the Expert mode in the pse 12 editor?
In the photoshop elements editor, one doesn't export photos, one saves them in a file format like psd, tiff, png or jpeg.
After you open the photo from lightroom into pse 12 and do your adjustments, go to File>Save to save back into lightroom.
(you may get the Save As dialog depending on the lightroom and/or pse 12 preferences)
Just press Save and click Yes to replace the copy that lightroom made to send over to pse 12.

Metromantra Oct 4, 2014 9:33 AM (in response to Metromantra)Hi,
This is a follow up to the dialog about "exporting" files back to LR5 after adjusting in PSE12.
In simple terms, as I am no expert at all, just a long time film photo pro always struggling with the digital technology, even though it is great to use, here is what I need to accomplish.
After transferring raw files from LR5 and creating a panoramic image file in PSE12, which shows on my editor next to the several files i created it from. Is it possible to send the newly created panorama file back to LR5 so I could use the print module there. If so, how, what steps need be taken.
Thank you for your help, I am in no rush, and am very appreciative of your imput.
Carl
My overall aim it to create the finest quality panoramic print for exhibition.

R_Kelly Oct 4, 2014 4:22 PM (in response to Metromantra)Yes, just use File>Save and that should save the new pano back to the same folder that the original files came from and then Lightroom should pick up and show the newly saved pano.

Metromantra Oct 4, 2014 4:36 PM (in response to R_Kelly)Okay, that is clear. And it worked for when I used jpeg. But with the raw panorama it now says the file is too big.

R_Kelly Oct 4, 2014 5:19 PM (in response to Metromantra)What settings do you have set in the Lightroom preferences for External Editing?
If the Save As dialog appears in pse 12 when hitting File>Save, what file format is listed at the bottom of the dialog?
What is the exact message you get?
What are the pixel dimensions of the file?
Image>Resize>Image Size in the pse 12 editor
