projects disappear

We are experiencing this issues on a number of iPads. When students create projects they are either not saving or when they go back to access a saved project the next day, the project is gone. Is there a way to correct this?

They are brand new 32GB iPads so Yes, there is storage space on them.

Very odd. Are the projects saved (or attempted to be saved) in a specific folder or just generally where, say, the tutorials and intro are?

Just in the general area... some are named and others are untitled 1, untitled 2, etc.

Are your students using sync or only saving to the devices?

Ok, it would be interesting to know the projects are gone after a new start and not only the day afterward.
If any syncing with iTunes over Wifi is done etc.

You mention a number of iPads - can you tell which iPads models you have a problem with?

They are all iPad Airs which were purchased this past summer. They are set up by the students so other than our management profiles on them, there are no restrictions. The students do not connect to iTunes over WiFi. The projects have disappeared immediately after they try to save, as well as when they have gone back to the app a day or two later. It is not happening all the time and thought that upgrading to iOS 8 had corrected the problem but we have had one student lose work after upgrading.

Ok, if I understand it correctly it's only one project that disappears at a time and not all?

Would be interesting to know if the students save their projects and they have PS touch in the foreground while saving.
