Exact error message: The network connection was lost for file xxxx or was modified by another process.
Are you saying that is what my error report means? I've never seen that particular message, only: Adobe Indesign CC 2014 has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution.
Have you deleted the recovery data? The InDesign Recovery folder on Windows should be under Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 10.0\<language>\caches\
This is a hidden folder, so you'll need to enable hidden files and folders in Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab.
But that may not fix the problem.
has there been a solution to this issue? I've got the exact same message. further details from event viewer:

it looks to be crashing at the "Starting up Trackers..." part of the splash screen.
I tried Peter Spier's suggestion of deleting the recovery data folder but I also installed version 10.1.0.7 of InDesign CC 2014 during the process - it seems to be working but I can't confirm if it was Peter's suggestion or the update that was the fix.
Thanks for the suggestions people.
