I'm buying a new PC workstation for the typical graphic design stuff. Most used tools are PS for pixelpusher stuff like image editing and ID for print design. NO gaming what so ever. NO 3D renderings either. My local vendors are all about Nvidia k600 or k2200, also GeForce gtx 750 has been recommended. When I read reviews it seems to me that those are very typical gamer cards with all the noise that goes with that - and I don't need that. So does anyone have a suggestion that caters to 2D work or has gamer cards become the norm these days? I remember some years ago there was a clear niche for each target audience.
Thanks for any suggestions.
There is no one ideal card. Most video cards these days can be classified as "gaming" but Photoshop will take advantage of a lot of the latest technologies that such cards offer. Here's a pretty complete guide: Photoshop CC and CC 2014 GPU FAQ
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that I'm running CS6 and not CC. Guess I'll just have to find a silent card that's not too aimed at the super gamer. Silence as in a passive cooling system.
