I meant to say $4,000 build. Not a 4k resolution build. Although that'd be nice.
Are you going to spend $4000 and stay with CS5.5?
CS5.5 and CS 6 both do not support two GPU's for Hardware MPE Acceleration..
SLI does not benefit Premiere even in the newer CC versions that do take advantqge dual GPU's.
I also like to do 3d work with Blender, which can utilize multiple cards.
So I guess you answered my question, then!
And, yes, to be honest, I don't want to upgrade to CC, as I do not like the payment plans and usage of software with CC.
You are not the only one that does not want to pay forever.
That's one thing I wanted to actually discuss. Is there another thread in which people are talking about that?
I basically want to know what others are doing about this. Switching to another software, etc... ? For the hobbyist like me, this new pricing model kills any thing I can purchase.
Obviously this suits businesses, but not ppl like me :/
It has scrolled out of sight (no new postings for several weeks) but there was a LONG (about 2000 postings) message thread in the Lounge that started about 3 years ago when it was announced that CS6 would be the last perpetual license version
After lots of passionate debate, Adobe's policy of Cloud only was not changed... so after 3 years, I don't think that policy will change
I'm sure there is other software, but I don't have any idea of names or capabilities
You are in the lucky situation that you can still upgrade to the perpetual license of CS6 Master Collection for a limited amount of $ 525. Within one year you start saving money over the rental of CC ($ 600 p/a) and never need to spend further money. The rental model is like a bottomless pit.
How do I upgrade to it? I don't see anywhere. Also, any chance to upgrade Premiere and AE only?
