Beware Update 2014.1 - It creates new problems

I have just updated to 2014.1 of PP and opened a project that worked correctly on 2014 but is now faulty.

The sequence is a short trailer that uses several video files on V1 all with tracking mask on V3. The multi-camera sequence uses the mask correctly but the following clips are cropped! The cropping is caused by the Mask and can be removed if the Motion Effect of the mask is disabled. There is no crop set in the in the mask. The 2 images show what I am describing:

Please can anyone tell what has happened her and if there is a fix?

After the update I am having to create a new project file (seems that the new is not compatible with old), then I clean the cache database, and then I have to close the program and start it again to get it to generate new conform files.

I have tried to use the 2014.1 with another project and it appears that PP has just stopped!

Looks like I will have to revert to last weeks program.

Anybody else having problems?

Hi,

Which graphics card is there in the computer and how much is the vram?
Can you try and import this project in a new project?

The graphics card is and AMD Radeon HD6800 I think the memory is 1GB. It worked fine before the update but not after, also other projects with similar design behaved in that same way.

Can't do any more with that problem as there were so many bugs in that update that I had to revert my whole system to the previous weeks backup to finish the projects.

Hi,

In Premiere Pro, can you go to File-Project Settings-General and change the Video Renderer to Software Only Mode and check if it helps the situation.

THANK YOU. This fixed my issue with neither source nor program monitor working. I always forget about that setting. I wish these things stayed the same from update to update. Oh well, it only killed an hour of my day.

Thanks for the suggestion, however I know that the video renderer was set to software only. So that could not have solved my problem.

Also I edited the same project with both software only and GPU assisted in the earlier version of PP and under neither condition did I get that cropping.

Hi,

Can you update the Graphics Card to Standard VGA Mode and check again. One more thing from Premiere Pro clear the media cache as well please.
