Same here! I have clients' themes saved and need access. Please help!
All the Color Themes created in old Kuler App are in sync with website (color.adobe.com). Please log in the website with the same username/password you are using in old Kuler app to view all your themes in my themes section.
Additionally, on new color cc app, click on middle of top bar and select my_themes from library menu. Yours themes will start syncing from color server automatically.
Please share your email which you used to log into old kuler app.
General workflow of kuler is when you create any theme in device, it synced to the server with the email you used in device and when you logged in illustrator with smae user name, it appears there.
I sent you a message with my info.
I had received your message. Thanks for mailing details.
Thanks for sharing details of your earlier problem. I had shared your problem with engineering team and they are looking into the problem.
As per screenshot of website shared by you, all your themes are available on website, so i am guessing issue is with Illustrator sync.
We will try to provide you solution ASAP.
sorry for inconvenience caused.
Hello Rolling Rook,
Please update which network connection you are using with the Color App (Cellular or WiFi).
We found one issue in Color App due to which themes failed to sync in Illustrator if Color CC App is using cellular connection. WiFi connection is working perfectly in that case.
Updated version of Color CC will be available in App Store soon with this fix.
Please confirm if you are facing same issue and it is working fine with WiFI connection.
Both wifi and cellular swatches show up just fine online on the Color website. The problem I am having is getting them back to Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
Please help me with one additional information. Create one theme on website and check if that is available in Illustrator, Photoshop etc.
Theme created on website is available under my_themes drop down. My Library sync has some issues as i explained earlier, fix for which is already underway.
All of my Themes are un "My Themes". Even a new library I created in Illustrator doesn't sync up to the website. I guess I'll have to wait.
I'm not sure I used an Adobe ID when I used the Kuler app. When it updated, I created a new account. My themes must have been saved to the phone and now they're gone. Is there any backup? That was my original question. I feel like if the update completely overrode the previous app, there should have been a warning.
Quick edit just to clarify: Long ago when I used the Kuler website on an old account I forgot I had, those themes are showing up just fine in the app. I must not have used the iOS app with an Adobe ID and the themes I have created on the app are all gone.
Same here. Used Kuler app without AdobeID, now after the update all themes stored on the phone are gone without any warning. Not cool Adobe...
I also lost all of the color themes on my phone. I go to My Themes in the new app and it is blank! I've logged in to the site online and there is nothing there either! HELP!!!
I too lost all the themes on my iPhone which were created with the Kuler App.
It is really poor form to silently replace your users app with a completely different one (not an update or upgrade) and just appalling that Adobe also managed to delete the existing app data at the same time!
This is really, really frustrating.
Adobe is pretty unresponsive, it seems, to consumer problems on the communities boards. I've found that the best way to get a response is via twitter. You can tweet your problems @AdobeCare (and I would #Adobe as well) and they do seem to respond (even send people here to respond). Not only does Adobe get the tweet, but the rest of the world now has access and can see the problem as well. This could help other users who are having the same issues.
I hope this helps!
Thank you for the suggestion Rolling Rook! I can't believe they would ignore comments on a forum when so many are having the same issues! I've tweeted them and hope it gets me somewhere! Thanks again!
Hey no problem! I feel your pain! I have client themes that I can't get to, but I'm kind of used to the CC being dysfunctional and unreliable (thus I don't rely on Color, Typekit or use the CC storage).
If you're desperate, you can download your themes from the Color website (if you still find them there). I know they work in Illustrator, not sure about other apps.
- Go to the Color website Adobe Color CC
- Click on to the theme you want
- Click the download icon (remember where you save it)
- Go to Illustrator (with a project open)
- Click on your swatches
- Click Open Swatch Library
- Click Open Other Library
- Open the file you downloaded from the site
This is an okay work around if you don't have very many themes.
I would love to be able to drag it back into the CC. When I try, it looks like it might (I get a green plus), but it doesn't do anything.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
While I appreciate all you're contributing to this discussion, the original problem is that my Kuler themes have disappeared from the iOS app. I don't integrate it with any CC software. And now @AdobeCare is linking to this discussion saying they'll update here. Unfortunately those responses are in reference to not finding themes in Illustrator. My themes aren't showing up ANYWHERE.
And Adobe seems to be ignoring my original issue. So if ANYONE from Adobe is actually reading this, please address the ORIGINAL issue and then you can address the Creative Cloud issue somewhere else. I'm getting very frustrated and I'm afraid to sync my phone until I have a definitive response from Adobe. So far everyone else who responded is having a completely unrelated issue solved.
Sorry if we appear slow to respond. Mosum, who has been responding to your questions, is actually an engineer on the color team. So, you have in fact been having conversations directly with the team.
I'll try to clarify. Please let me know if this is not helpful.
If you have signed in to your Color (aka Kuler) app before, your themes are safe. Most likely, your themes are all synced to the Color service. Here’s how to find them:
- Website: navigate to color.adobe.com and sign in. Click on the "My Themes" tab. Your colors should be showing up there. Note, at this moment in time, you cannot save themes from the color.adobe.com website directly to a library. This only works with the iOS application.
- iPhone/iPad: if you aren’t seeing your themes, but you are signed in, the problem is most likely solved by switching the library you are using. You can do this by tapping the menu bar at the top of the theme gallery. From here, you will see a menu that allows you to select to either save themes to color.dobe.com or to a CC library. Your old themes are stored in the color.adobe.com option.
- Desktop software: (I.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign) you can always find your colors on the Color Themes panel. This is located in Windows/Extensions/Color Themes for PS and ID. And, Windows/Color Themes for Ai. If you are looking for a color that you saved to a library from the mobile app, you can find this in Window/Library. Note, you must have the most current versions of PS, AI, and ID for this to work.
If you have never signed in to the app before, you themes are not saved. The only option you will have, at this point, is to restore your phone from a back-up via iTunes. Note, we’re working to release a new update that will allow users to carry themes forward to the updated version. And, I’m really sorry about any problems this may have caused. In this case, please send me an email directly and I'll do whatever I can to help you. firstname.lastname@example.org
