Sorry this is not an answer, just confirmation you are not on your own!
I need an answer to this too, this is currently bugging a number of large button filled iPDFs that I have in process.
Have tried everything. Cutting and pasting through simple text programs to try and strip, deleting in button panel URL entry window, however many ways I try to remove the end space it continually returns. This is a serious ID 2014 bug.
Anyone found a solution/fix?
Hi there, I know you asked this question a while back, but I have found a solution.
If you open the interactive pdf in Adobe Acrobat Pro, under "Tools" you can choose "Content" and "Select Object." Once that is selected, double click the button that is causing issues. A window will open. Choose the last tab named "Actions." From there, click "Open a web link" and then click edit. You can edit the URL from there. Then make sure to save the PDF.
I hope this makes sense! It worked for me
InDesign allows master page interactive buttons… make once use many times, Acrobat allows individual and painstaking editing of however many pages and buttons there are in the document, sometimes hundreds.
The solution is, until Adobe do a decent job of DC to revert to Pro XI and pretend its never happened.
I don't know if you and kcmeyers are having the same issue. Her and I were having the issue of it randomly adding spaces at the end of a URL. The InDesign document I'm working out of has about 150 buttons.
I hope you find a solution to your issue soon!
Sorry crossed wires with my more recent posting, just replied in email rather than looking at thread.
This issue did get resolved with later updates to InDesign… quietly. Are you up to date on CC or holding back on updates? I found no solution to it, it just got fixed. Now running InDesign 2014.2 Release.
Good luck, its a painful problem to have to live with.
No problem! I'm probably not up to date. I'm using CS6.
