Adobe seem have changed Photoshop behavior to display different smart guides as you move the cursor over the canvas over the different layers with autoselect checked and the Ctrl|CMD pressed. The select behavior seems to have changes also the key no longer suspend autoselect. As soon as you click the layer selection may change and also the guide being display. This new behavior IMO is disruptive and does not even seem to be useful to me.
Adobe should make Photoshop CC 2014 Autoselect work more like the other creative cloud versions of Photoshop CS6 version 13.1.3 avd CC version 14.2.1
Definitely, I don't quite get it, the smart guides already worked fine (and were already using ctrl/CMD keys) in 14.2.1 without altering the manual/auto select behaviour.
I think it's pretty inconsistent as far as the UX is concerned: the Ctrl/CMD key is now used for 2 different purposes while using the same tool (V) depending on if the auto select checkbox is manually checked or not. This seems like a bad UX idea...
It really slows my work a lot today and I know won't get used to this new behaviour before long since it was such a basic thing I learned and have used for years...
I hope there is or will be a way to change this very soon.
