Editing multiple waveform segments in Audition 3.

Hi!  Is there a way to highlight several areas of one waveform in a file, and then do an edit on all of those areas (such as for a vocalist's breaths being reduced by 10 db)?

Many thanks for any help.  Rick in NJ

Unfortunately there isn't a way to select multiple areas in one wave file, even in the latest versions of Audition.

However you can make a Favorite of your own to reduce level by 10dB and then assign it to a keyboard shortcut. Then it is quite quick to go through the file selecting each breath and using the shortcut key to apply the reduction.

To make a new custom Favorite go to the Favorite's menu and click on Edit Favorites. In the dialogue that opens select New and give it a name, enter a shortcut key and then go to the Functions tab. Select Amplitude and Compression/Amplify from the drop down menu. Go to Edit Settings and set the Gain to -10. Click OK then Save. Your new Favorite with it's shortcut should now appear in the Favorites menu.

Thank you very much, ryclark!  That is actually what I did a few days ago. Your fast response is appreciated!
