    Sharpening images in lightroom

I used to do sharpening in the following order: Amount of sharpening>radius>details>masking.

Recently, I read an article which recommended to start with Masking first before changing the amount, radius and details.

I wonder which process is more effective?

If you follow your process line, you probably want to revisit the amount after you do the masking. You might find that you can push it a little further than before. I usually go amount (increase to somewhere near 50)-> masking so no sky or smooth areas are sharpened -> fine-tune amount -> if needed (rarely) play with radius and details.
