c.pfaffenbichler Oct 9, 2014 2:38 AM (in response to bonalymac999)For me File > Scripts > Export Layers to Files results in files that have the original file’s dimensions.
When you talk about size do you mean dimensions (the pixels) or file-size (the KB)?

6. Re: Extract full size layers
bonalymac999 Oct 9, 2014 3:21 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)I am referring to dimensions.
The example I showed the screen grab of was of an image whose canvas size was 6400 x 3600 pixels. The only layer that emerged that size was the background which was a 100% fill of white. All others were a different size.
Need to have a look at preferences to see if anything here affects how it operates as you seem to be getting my desired outcome from the same steps.

bonalymac999 Oct 9, 2014 3:31 AM (in response to bonalymac999)The other thing that could be an issue is how the layers were created. I made selections from the background with the new guides showing, and then did a new layer with CTRL + J.

bonalymac999 Oct 9, 2014 3:34 AM (in response to bonalymac999)Found the answer.
I was creating png's as I wanted the transparency included. Trim layers was defaulted as a tick. This does not appear as an option if jpg is selected!

10. Re: Extract full size layers
bonalymac999 Oct 9, 2014 3:45 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)Primarily for file size issues. I'm using the resultant images as masks in a slideshow prog, where multiple layers soon add up.
I've just run a test with one of my originals. Exporting my 10 layers as psd's would require 17.7Mb of file. The same layers as pngs would occupy 334kb.
When processing this through a slide show creator it makes a big difference
