Load it into a movie clip just the same as you would with any content. But,
set its visibility to false. Then, set its visibility to true as you need
placeHolder._visible = false.

Have You already tried clicking on File then hover on Import then click on Import to Library? After it's imported and in the library, one can also right click on the imported object, select Properties, -there is a button that selects Advanced/Basic- Advanced gives Linkage options, or one could just click linkage after the File is Imported to the Library.
Again top left of Flash, where it says File, Edit, Insert, Modify, Text, Commands, Control, Window, Help, Click on File Import-Import to Library.
Id like to know how to do variable pre-loading. Where I can have thing load in stages, Even be able to keyframe in the time-line when to start pulling the big files in, for .this scene and/or better for other scenes.
