It is happening whether I am importing from a folder on my computer or connecting my camera.
If I select "import" and then select the origin folder or camera, PSE will import the entire contents of the folder or media card in the camera.

I Put a blank card in my camera and took a few pictures.
Connected the camera and imported the photos.
Disconnected the camera, took a few more photos, then connected the camera again.
Selected import from camera, and PSE 13 imported all the photos on the card again.
What is the fix for this?

Hi,
If you happen to apply metadata updates (template or file renaming) during import from APD, the next session of APD would not treat images as duplicates. As a workaround, you may import from APD directly without changing image metadata. This way, the files will be treated as duplicates upon next import.

I Made no changes at all between imports. I simply took more pictures, then connected the camera.
PSE 13 simply does not recognize duplicates on the Mac version when importing.
THis was also a problem in my previous version 11.
WHy hasn't this been resolved? I am not the only person with this problem.
This forum has multiple threads about the same problem, and if you search the internet you will see that it is a chronic problem with the Mac version.
It appears Adobe is not interested in it's Mac customers.
CAn you please get this resolved?
