Zooming on a vector object doesn´t flow smoothly

    LARV Level 1

I have in this file a single svg object, the map. I have set it to enlarge 1000% on a 3 second timeline. Nothing else is added or done.

It doesn´t zoom smoothly when playing it in Edge or in preview. It makes little pauses and skips. Any clue to why?

The world map in SVG is a complex artwork. It is heavy for the browsers to regenerate the vector art continuously in every frame.

AFAIK, you can try the following options.

          1) Try optimising the SVG using some tools available online/offline. Just search google.  Still you may not get a smooth animation in low end machines.

          2) Generate a decent resolution PNG image out of the SVG. Use it during zooming. When the zoom animation ends, hide it and present the real SVG.

This will be smooth. But the high fidelity of the vector artwork is lost during the zooming.
