Hi all! Back in After Effects CS6 I was able to import DPX files generated from Blender. They were 10bit RGB files like this one:
I recently upgraded to AE CC (no plugins installed) and I am getting After Effects error: The file header version is invalid. ( 0 :: 8 )
Please note the only change has been upgrading to CC. These files were generated in Blender 2.68 and worked fine in CS6, but not in CC.
On Mac OSX 10.9.5 with a GTX 680 and 20 GB of RAM. Any help would be appreciated
I looked at this file with DPX Plus in Photoshop and found that the header version is listed as "v2.0" instead of the standard "V2.0", note the uppercase. It's true, earlier versions of AE weren't bothered by this. I'll file a bug.
In the meantime, you could use DPX Plus for AE to read it, because it'll ignore the version in the header.
We were getting the same issue with DPXs exported from 3DEqualizer Warp4 by Science-D-Visions. A header error when trying to open in AE CC. DPXs open in PS, but not AfterEffects. The plugin above did fix the issue. Hopefully, Adobe will take notice..
