I'm working on my Kickstarter and it seems that in Firefox the blacks are not as black as they can be, but in IE and Chrome they display fine. I've researched and tested this and it seems like the KS encoder does something to my video, and displays a grey'ish film for the blacks in Firefox. Has anyone else run into this? The screenshot below is after the video was uploaded to Kickstarter. The video on my home pc looks nice and dark, as in the IE shot.
also open to comments on the video. I am very new to AE. Everything on this preview page is a WIP Fire away!
You need to read up on Gamma and how it is treated in H.264 (or otehr video formats for that matter).
This is the same video on KS, different web browsers. KS takes a bit to encode the video so I am pretty sure it's their encoder and Firefox. If I make the original video darker it's going to affect IE/Chrome so that its very dark, but then Firefox will look OK. No?
