Just to ask
Why are you creating Jpegs with InDesign?
I get a better result if I export to PDF - and then open that in Photoshop - then save as a tiff from there.
The PDF export options should be set to no compression for images, if you have any in the export.
My Mac is running on 10.8 by the way... Does any of this sound familiar to any of you?
There have been a couple of threads on this lately and it looks like a bug to me. If you get the file type of an exported jpeg it's "????" and not "JPEG". This script will display a file's file type:
tell application "Finder"
set f to choose file with prompt "Select a file"
display dialog file type of f as string
