    What do you do with postdata.att?

    gdre110
      I have created in Dreamweaver a form.
      It work just fine.
      What doesn't work just fine is the email I receive.
      The email I get has a "postdata.att" file. Yes this is just a script file that opens up in wordpad.
      The results are not good.
      "-----------------------------7d736b2490380
      Content-Disposition: form-data; name="destination office"
      one line after line.
      It use to be on long line. I fixed that.
      The end user of this data is someone who thinks that computers are the work of the devil.
      They want to be able update the file and then send it on to an agent.
      the current form is unacceptable.
      Please help!

          this is happening because you have used "mailto" as the form's action, and
          either not set or incorrectly set the "method" in the form tag.

          Better- use a server side script to send the form data.

          what server side scripting language does this site's hosting offer?
          ASP or PHP or Perl or ColdFusion or others

          what does the hosting company's support or FAQ pages say about forms?

          Is there a control panel or cpanel? poke around in there for things like
          "scripts" "cgi-center" or similar icons.

          if no pre-installed script, post back with what flavor of script you need.

            Add this to the form tag -

            enctype="text/plain"

            to give -

            <form ... enctype="text/plain">

            But take Alan's words to heart.
