Hello mjh, (I hope this is of some help!)
I had Director 11.5 running on 10.9.5 (Mavericks) before I upgraded it to 12
It was working fine
But I read in your question that you are running Director 11, not 11.5
I do remember that D11 had a few issues
Can you please explain your problem with some more details…
do you get an error?
does it crash?
can you publish anything (a dcr?)
what are your publish settings?
are you running a trial version?

HI,
If it was me, I would simply Publish to my hard drive, then drag the files to a CD and Burn. Or use a program that allows you to really customize the CD or DVD one the files are there.
