Lost all data due to powersurge.

Hello All,

I am certainly not an expert with LR, Today while working there was a power surge and the PC switched off. After switching it on back and run LR, I have absolutely nothing in the LR Catalog.

For some reason, it shows a new catalog made and no back ups.

After reading here i tried removing the LRCat.LOCK file, no luck either. I am adding some photo's - any help would be appreciated.

If it doesn't show up in File>Recent then try this:
Search your system for all files that end in .LRCAT. You should have one with a recent creation date (possibly today). Double click it to launch it.

Hey Rikk,
I tried seeing both the things, like in the screenshots pasted above, unfortunately nothing - I could Find
for the recent part, for some unknown reason it shows the same name as previous and no backups either.

Any help is appreciated.

I am not surprised it isn't in the Open Recent. That can happen with a power-loss induced crash. You will need to conduct a hard drive search for LRCAT files in hopes you can find your most recent good file. Or, you can resort to your backups.

Update:

The LR - preferences vanished, but it created a new LR 5 Catalog in the root catalog folder, and reset all preferences, earlier the LR catalog was in a diff directory. Switched to the same and recovered all.
